Brian Alan Greif, 46, of DeSoto was arrested on Sunday on warrants for willful injury, assault while displaying a dangerous weapon and criminal mischief stemming from an incident from Thursday night, Jan. 6.
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Department were paged to the Kum & Go at 1203 Guthrie Street in DeSoto. A man there said he had been attacked by Greif with a machete and he was taken to the hospital in an ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
Lt. Adam Infante of the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department said that they spent the entire weekend looking for Greif before eventually finding him in his home on Sunday.
Greif is currently being held at the Dallas County Jail. His bond has been set at $10,000 according to the Dallas County Jail inmate database, but will first serve a 20-day sentence without bond for contempt of court.
The charge of assault - use/display of a weapon is a misdemeanor - indictable serious and aggravated while the charges of criminal mischeif - second degree and willful injury - causing bodily injury are Class D felonies.
