March is here, spring is (almost) sprung, and there are so many fun things to do at your library!
We are excited to debut our new names for Children’s activities which are always open to kids of all ages:
Wee Build is the name of our STEM programs. Wee Build LEGOs™ together on Thursday, March 9 at 2 p.m.
Wee Craft are drop-in arts and crafts programs. Join us as Wee Craft on Wednesday, March 15 at 10:30 a.m.
Wee Play are programs designed to get kids moving and grooving. Our Next Wee Play time will be on April 9.
Wee Read is the new name of our twice weekly story times. Wee Read programs happen every Monday and Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m.
Wee Sing is the new name of our weekly music program. Wee Sing every Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
Wee Watch are family movies we show on our big screen. In March, Wee Watch “Finding Dory” on Wednesday, March 29 at 2 p.m.
Critter Cindy from Dallas County Conservation will host a nature themed story time on Monday, March 20 at 10:30 a.m.
Join Paula and Lynne for a special adult program, Brake for Garage Sales!, on Thursday, March 23 at 6:30 p.m. where they’ll talk about their most exciting finds, growing their collections, and how you can start and inventory your own collections. Bring one item from one of your collections to share!
The Brown Bag Book Club meets on Thursday, March 9 at Noon to discuss the memoir “The World’s Strongest Librarian” by Josh Hanagame while the Evening Book Club will meet on Thursday, March 30 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss the novel “Enemy Women” by Paulette Jiles. Copies of both books are available to check out and our book clubs are always welcoming new people to our fun-filled discussions.
The next quarterly meeting of the Friends of the Adel Public Library Foundation is on Thursday, March 9 at 6:30 p.m. Anyone interested in supporting the library in our mission to develop library services and promote the freedom to read is encourage to join us!
The Dallas County Library Association and 4 R Kids ECI are hosting the fourth annual Dallas County Toddler Festival on Saturday, May 6 from 10 a.m. to noon in the agriculture building at the Dallas County Fairgrounds. We’ll have two hours of free activities dedicated to toddlers and their caregivers and each child will receive a free book just for attending the festival!
