1. Adel Chocolate Walk - Saturday, May 13, Downtown Adel. Free to the public. Join Adel HealthMart, Adel Quilting & Dry Goods Co., Decor Adel, Brick Street Books & Cafe, Brick Street Bakery, and Studio Q 360 for the fourth annual Chocolate Walk! Stop by each of these businesses to sample FREE chocolate and shop with your friends and family. Pick up a passport at any location the day of and get it stamped at all the businesses to be entered into a drawing for a gift basket! Each business will be handing out a gift basket valued at $50. A perfect treat for Mother’s Day weekend. Shop and eat FREE chocolate!


2. Iowa Clay Festival - Saturday and Sunday, May 13-14 at Penoach Winery in Adel. Iowa Wine and Iowa Pottery, a perfect combination! This annual event takes place at the Penoach Vineyard and Winery featuring the handcrafted pottery of great Iowa artists and American potters.


3. Waukee Firefighters Pancake Breakfast - Saturday, May 13 from 7-11 a.m. at the Waukee Public Safety Building. Each year, this family-friendly event draws hundreds of residents who enjoy “all you care to eat” pancakes and sausage. Plus, kids can burn off all of that syrup-induced energy with inflatables and fire truck rides! The cost of the event is $5 per person; however, kids ages four and under eat for free. Guests are also encouraged to bring non-perishable food items or cash donations for the Waukee Area Christian Services Food Pantry, if able.
