Summer is finally here and our reading programs are in full swing! We are excited to host Blank Park Zoo for the Kickoff of the Build a Better World! Summer Reading Program for all babies and toddlers, kids, teens, and adults on June 7 at 11 a.m. or at 1 p.m. This is a repeat performance so we encourage younger age children to attend the 11 a.m. program and school age kids to attend the 1 p.m. program, but please chose the best one for your schedule.
Each week, beginning June 12, we’ll have several opportunities for fun at your library:
Wee Read with kids of all ages on Mondays and Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.
Messy Monday Crafts for kids of all ages every Monday at 2 p.m.
We Sing with kids of all ages on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.
In June we also have these fun kid activities:
Our first Summer Movie is “Rock Dog” on Thursday June 8 at 6 p.m. on the big screen.
Children’s author and illustrator Tim Reed presents a special “My Very Silly Monster” story time on Wednesday June 14 at 2 p.m.
Local children’s author Rebecca Jannie who “loves jammy dancing!” Join us for a special Jammy Dance on Thursday June 15 at 10:30 a.m. when she’ll invite students to join in a pajama line dance, rubber ducky relays, a teddy bear toss, and a reading (or singing) of Jammy Dance! This interactive program encourages students to explore rhyme and rhythm in stories and music.
Chip and Aunt Dot are back for another amazing magical show on Wednesday June 21 at 10:30 a.m.!
Our second Summer Movie is “Lego Movie” on Wednesday June 28 at 2 p.m. on the big screen.
