Dr. Callie Garoutte, originally of Adel, was recently awarded one of nine 2017 IVMA Foundation Sustaining Involvement with the IVMA Scholarships for $2,000. The recipient of this scholarship must demonstrate community involvement, be active in organized veterinary medicine leadership, show intentions of practicing in Iowa and be an Iowa resident.
Garoutte received her undergraduate degree in Animal Science from Iowa State University in 2009. She is a 2017 graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University.
Garoutte has in interest in beef cattle medicine and will begin her residency in Clinical Veterinary Microbiology with the Veterinary Diagnostic Lab at Iowa State University.
Garoutte is married to Jared Garoutte and they have a daughter, Keagan. The Iowa Veterinary Medical Association (IVMA) is a 501c3 nonprofit, member-service organization dedicated to the veterinary profession. The IVMA supports member veterinarians and promotes the profession through continuing education, publications and advocacy.
