1. BACooN Sizzles Waukee, June 16, 2017 from 5-11 p.m.


BACooN Sizzles Waukee welcomes BACooN Ride 4 riders to Centennial Park for an evening of bacon, bikes and beverages. This annual event, with great food and non-food vendors, is fun for everyone – not just the cyclists! Omaha-based island rock band The Fishheads will also perform live all evening in the BACooN Sizzles beverage garden. The BACooN Ride takes off the next morning.


2. Eating Well While Saving the Earth, June 18, 1:30-3pm


Celebrate Earth Day with a fun tour of the Forest Park Museum and Arboretum and an interactive presentation on the three Rs (reducing, re-using, and recycling) of food waste. Learn how to eat better, save money on food, feed the hungry, and become a warrior in the fight to conserve natural resources.


Participants will get information on wise shopping, menu planning, food preservation, composting, recycling, donating to food pantries, and even best strategies for organizing cupboards and the fridge! 3. Dallas County Fair Rodeo, June 16-17


The Dallas County Fair Rodeo will take place on Friday and Saturday nights at the Dallas County Fairgrounds in Adel. The rodeo starts at 7:30 p.m. each night. There will be free live music afterwards each night. The Miss Rodeo Dallas County Queen Coronation will take place from 6:45 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday night.
