A lunch benefit and silent auction was held last Saturday for 4-year-old Mara Nevins and Tori’s Angels. Approximately 400 people attended the event in the A-D-M Middle School Commons.

Mara is the daughter of Lyle and Brandi Nevins and was diagnosed last year with a brain tumor, which required surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. According to a press release from Tori’s Angels, Mara’s oncologist is now seeking alternative treatment which may require them to travel out of state. Travel expenses will be paid by Tori’s Angels.

The event featured a free lunch and over 150 donated items for silent auction, as well as face painting and a visit from superheroes from Justice Corps of Iowa.

Members from seven of Tori’s Angels supported families were also in attendance.

Those who were unable to make it to the event, but would still like to support the Nevins family may send donations to the foundation’s chairman, Bill Ridgley, 4677 Panorama Drive, Panora, Iowa, 50216. You can also make donations online at the Tori’s Angels Facebook page.
