The Waukee Community School District has revealed its new logos and branding.

The District said, in a post on its website, that the new branding is in an effort to establish an identity separate from the current high school activity logo as they prepare to build and open a second high school in the city of Waukee.

The post stated that the Waukee High School logo and mascot, the Warrior, will not be changing. The new color scheme is not that of the proposed new high school.

The design concept and the color scheme were approved at a school board meeting on Jan. 9. The four colors come from the Waukee APEX colors and represent different aspects of the district:

“Waukee purple” signifies the district’s history, “Chartreuse green” represents district innovation, gray symbolizes their focus on fiscal integrity and light purple conveys the district’s ability to grow and adapt with the community.

The post on the district’s website stated that the overall design also illustrates how Waukee, West Des Moines, Clive, Urbandale and the surrounding areas come together to create the Waukee Community School District.
