ADEL — Two-thousand days. This is the amount of time between a child’s entrance into the world and his or her first day of kindergarten. The first 2,000 days of life can have a profound impact on development making preschool an important—yet costly—decision. However, through 4Rkids Early Childhood Iowa Area, assistance may be available for eligible families.

Scholarships are available for children who reside in Adair, Dallas, Madison and Warren County and have turned three years old by September 15, 2017. Additionally, 4-year-olds must be enrolled in a minimum of ten hours of programming at a cooperating preschool that meets quality standards and the award will remain in effect until the end of the school year with the expectation the child’s attendance will be 90 percent or more.
