It is my great pleasure and honor to write this letter in support of Carter Nordman for Mayor of Adel.
I first became acquainted with Carter when he was in 8th grade and I was his American History teacher. His love of country and his passion for our government and how it works was apparent even then. Throughout the 2012 election Carter took a keen interest in the issues and the process. During the debates he participated in an online, real-time discussion opened to our 8th graders. I was amazed at his insight and how informed he was.
Since that time I have watched Carter take on responsibilities and challenges that have prepared him to run for mayor. To name a few, he has been a Legislative Assistant for the Iowa House of Representatives, served on the Adel Parks and Recreation Board, and was voted Chairman of the Adel Parks and Recreation Board. Carter is the type of person that does his homework, looks at issues from different perspectives, and most importantly he listens.
Today I very proudly and with complete confidence fulfill a promise I made to an exceptional young man when he was in 8th grade. That promise was that if Carter ever ran for office I would support him in any way that I could.
