Learn How to Take Better Pictures with local photographer Amanda Taborga. Amanda will be at the library on Thursday, Nov. 16 at 6:30 p.m. where she will present a program on taking better pictures just in time for all your holiday photos!
Critter Cindy from Dallas County Conservation will be at your library for a special story time on Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 10:30 a.m.
Join us as Wee Watch “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” on Wednesday, Nov. 22 at 2 p.m. on the big screen in the Community Room.
Our book clubs meet twice this month; join us for lunch on Thursday, Nov. 9th at noon for our Brown Bag Book Club, or on Tuesday, Nov. 21 for our new Afternoon Book Club. Copies of each clubs monthly selections are always available at the circulation desk.
The library has several great ways to help adults manage their stress and promote a healthier lifestyle. Exercise with our Walk Away the Pounds group every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at 9 a.m. or join us for Tai Chi every Wednesday at 9 a.m. You can also come chill with us and Color me Calm each Tuesday at 1 p.m.
Garage Sale season is over and, thanks to the generosity of our friends and patrons, we have many items left at the library. Throughout November you can visit the library and, in exchange for a donation of non-perishable foods, take home whatever items you like. At the end of November all the foods collected will be donated to the Good Samaritan Food Pantry of Adel while any remaining Garage Sale items will be donated to Goodwill in Waukee.
The Holiday Craft Show and Book Fair is fast approaching and we still have a few tables left for local authors or crafters to rent. The show will be at the library on Friday, Dec. 1 from 1-5 p.m. and interested vendor should contact Paula at 515-993-3512 or Paula@adelpl.org for more details.
In January, the Friends Foundation Art Show runs for two weeks, with this year’s Winter Gala on Monday, Jan. 8, and we still have room for local artists to display their work. Interested local artists should contact Trever at 515-993-3512 or Trever@adelpl.org.
The library will be closed in observance of Veterans Day on Friday, Nov. 10. We are also closed Thursday, Nov. 23 and Friday, Nov. 24 for Thanksgiving; we will be open normal hours on Saturday, Nov. 25.
