On Oct. 28 Erica Baier, daughter of Brad and Jodi Baier, was elected National FFA Secretary at the National Convention and Expo held in Indianapolis. Baier is currently studying Agriculture Education at Iowa State University, is a graduate from A-D-M High School and is an Earlham FFA chapter member.

Baier took part in a process in which she went up against 40-plus other candidates, and was selected as part of the final team of six. The process included different rounds that would test their ability on workshop facilitation, communication skills and a personal interview.

Throughout the next year Erica will travel all over, likely covering over 100,000 national and international miles and being on the road up to 300 days. She will interact with business and industry leaders, thousands of FFA members and teachers, corporate sponsors, government and education officials, and more.

The team will lead personal growth and leadership training conferences for FFA members throughout the country. This is an incredible accomplishment, one which Erica has worked extremely hard for. The Earlham FFA and entire Iowa FFA association are extremely proud of Erica, and know that she will positively influence so many agriculture education students over the next year!
