The Salvation Army Red Kettle Goal of $30,200 reached its half way point on Dec. 4. The Christmas campaign, which runs through Dec. 23, is approximately one quarter of The Salvation Army yearly budget. The seasonal mail goal is tracking slightly ahead and reached 23 percent on Dec. 4. All donations received stay in Boone County to do the most good.


The Salvation Army is still looking for volunteers to assist in ringing the bell and standing at the iconic red kettle in Boone. The organization asks for a minimum of two hours and groups are encouraged to volunteer.


The Salvation Army will assist 189 families including 278 children this Christmas with Christmas dinner and toys for those who may not have otherwise had a happy holiday. Donations raised at Christmas help assist with the organizations Toy Shop as well runs programs throughout the year.
