The Growing Food and Profit group will hold their first meeting of the year on January 4th at the First Presbyterian Church in Dallas Center, 1204 13th Street. The evening will begin with a potluck meal at 6:30 pm. Please bring a potluck dish to share and your own table service. Coffee and water will be provided.
This meeting will be a time to connect and re-connect with other food growers and those interested in locally grown foods. The evening will be a chance to swap and share information on everything from varieties and techniques, to locating tools or equipment, and beyond.
At the Feb. 6 GFP meeting Ajay Nair, Professor of Horticulture at Iowa State University, will speak on intercropping in vegetable cropping systems.
Whether you are a food grower, someone interested in growing foods, or an “eater” of locally grown foods, you are welcome to attend.
The GFP group is sponsored by ISU Extension in Dallas County. For more information, please contact Linda Nelson at 515-491-3984 or Lsnelson1@hotmail.com
