Two Celebrate! Innovation speakers with ties to NASA teamed up to do a joint Celebrate! Innovation presentation at the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) West Campus and then had a meet and greet with the public following their presentation. Rob Manning (left), chief engineer for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL), and author, journalist and filmmaker Rod Pyle (third from left) pose for a photo with six-year old Chase Walkup and his mom, Kristin Walkup of Waukee. Manning and Pyle talked about the planet, Mars. Pyle has written 13 books on space history, exploration and development, including Innovation the NASA Way and Destination Mars. Manning has spent the last 35 years designing, testing, operating and managing robotic spacecraft including Galileo to Jupiter, Cassini to Saturn, Magellan to Venue, and Pathfinder and Curiosity to Mars.
