1. Nile Kinnick Birthday Party


11-2 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Stage and Pavilion in Adel.


The celebration will start with a private ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. at the Adel Historical Museum. At 11 a.m. the event will be open to the public at the Community Stage and Pavilion at the corner of 10th Street and Main Street where they will have cake and ice cream, Herkey and the University of Iowa Spirit Squad as well as appearances by Tom Lidd, the author of the book “Nile” and a filmmaker who is creating a film about Nile Kinnick and the 1939 Iowa Hawkeyes.


A bronze bust will also be on display for the first time ever at the celebration. Attendees will be able to take selfies with the statue. The event will wrap up at 2 p.m.


2. Clover Kids Day at the Dallas County Fair


3 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 12 at Dallas County Fairgrounds.


3) Waukee Arts Festival


5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, July 13 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 14 in Centennial Park.


The Waukee Area Arts Council and Stivers Ford Lincoln will present the Waukee Arts Festival on Friday, July 13 and Saturday, July 14 in Centennial Park. Admission is free to the public. Visit waukeearts.org for more information.
