Des Moines – Blood donations are needed urgently this summer as the need for blood is up but donations with LifeServe Blood Center are down.

A LifeServe Blood Center medical partner recently called summer “trauma season.” Outdoor activities, travel, and other factors lead to a sharp increase for the need for blood in the warmer months, but those same things keep donors’ schedules busy. Since there’s no substitute for blood, when there are no donors, the blood supply suffers greatly.

Roll up your sleeve and help ensure there’s blood on the shelf when it’s needed. There’s a LifeServe Blood Center blood drive coming up in your community!Redfield Community Blood Drive: Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018 from 2-6 p.m. at American Legion, 1116 Thomas St.
