The 2018 Dallas County Relay for Life returned on Satuday, Oct. 6. Weather prompted the event, annually held around the Perry High School track, to be moved indoors to the high school gym.
The event featured an opening ceremony, a speech from honorary survivor Kirk VanKirk, laps from the survivors and caretakers, a community meal, luminary ceremony and a closing ceremony.
Committee Chairwoman Tracy Iles said the 2018 Relay brought in just over $17,000 for the American Cancer Society. Those wishing to donate are still able to do so.
