Evan Blackwell of Waukee has been selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship from the Iowa Motor Carriers Foundation.
The Iowa Motor Carriers Foundation is a division of the Iowa Motor Truck Association and has been awarding scholarships since 1986 to Iowans pursuing an advanced degree at an Iowa college or university.
This year the Iowa Motor Carriers Foundation is giving 11, $1,000 scholarships and all of the recipients possess the work ethic, grades and commitment to excellence that are the main focus of the selection process.
Evan is the recipient of the Bob Bannister Memorial Memorial scholarship. Family and friends of Bob Bannister established this scholarship in memory of the late Bob Bannister. Bob was an active volunteer and avid supporter of the IMTA. Bob was an employee of McKenna Truck Center.
