Last week, Gov. Terry Branstad visited students at Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School who are involved in the Project Lead TheWay (PLTW) Biomedical Sciences Program.
The governor toured each station, speaking with students on their projects including how to properly measure blood pressure and heart rate.
During the visit, Branstad articulated that students who are involved in this program will become better educated on the advances in bio medicine. Representatives from the Dallas County Foundation, Dallas County Hospital and Wellmark were present during the visit and are all partners with the school’s PLTW course.
A-D-M is currently only one of four schools in the State of Iowa to offer the PLTW Biomedical Science Program.
