Dallas County Hospital recently named its Employee and Volunteer of the Year for the 2013 calendar year.
Brian Nelson, with facilities, was named Dallas County Hospital’s Employee of the Year, while Richard Gelbowitz, also with facilities, was named the Dallas County Hospital Volunteer of the Year. Nelson, who was also an Employee of the Quarter in third quarter of this past year, was nominated for taking ownership of many projects. He has successfully taken on the Green Team’s Leadership Role and has implemented many initiatives that qualify for community benefits. Brian continually displays the Dallas County Hospital Values of Compassion, Respect, Integrity, Excellence and Teamwork.
As Volunteer of the Year, Richard Gelbowitz gave back over 15 hours of his own time to represent Dallas County Hospital. From taking ownership of the Dallas County Hospital Perry 4th of July Parade float, to spending an evening with high school students working at the Perry High School concession stand, Richard showed the DCH spirit by giving back to others. Both received their awards at the 2013 Annual Employee Holiday Celebration held on Nov. 22.
