DLR Group received three Excellence in Energy Efficient Design Awards at the 2013 Iowa American Institute of Architects Convention in Des Moines. Recognized for outstanding efforts in reducing energy use, DLR Group accepted awards for the design of Dallas Center-Grimes Meadows School, Anamosa Middle School, and the renovation of Chariton High School.

"These three schools are evidence that you do not have to break the budget to implement energy efficiency," said Eric Beron, AIA, DLR Group Principal. "Our design process involves the entire team of architects and engineers from the start of a project so sustainability is and always has been an important part of our culture."

Beron also said the positive impact green school design has on students’ health, behavior and achievement is another important consideration.
