Little Free Library, a box or shelf placed in a public place containing books for anyone to take, will be the first of its kind to come to Adel.
The library will be located at 1621 Prairie St. and open on Aug. 1 at 7 p.m.
It will be operated by stewards who collect and restock the books. Adel’s stewards are Maggie Howe and John Gibney.
A Little Free Library was founded in 2009 by Todd Bol and Rick Brooks and has now grown into an international community with thousands of libraries.
