Bonita Baughman, Meredith McHone-Pierce, Mary Ockerman and Kay Struble, members of the GFWC/Iowa Adel Women’s Club, were among 65 women attending the 86th annual state convention held in Des Moines recently.

The conference included presentations on beekeeping, Trees Forever, UNA Shot @ Life and Prevent Child Abuse Iowa. The General Federation of Woman’s Clubs is a unifying force, bringing together local women’s clubs, with members dedicated to strengthening their communities and enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service.

With 100,000 members in affliated clubs in every state and more than a dozen countries, GFWC members are community leaders who work locally to creat global change by supporting the arts, preserving natural resources, advancing education, promoting healthy lifestyle, encouraging civic involvement and workingtoward world peace and understanding.
