Officers of metro law enforcement agencies will be participating in a Central Iowa Traffic Safety Task Force and Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau project this week. The project, which will run this Friday, January 24, from 8:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., focuses on speed and other traffic violations. These patrol vehicles will be concentrated on I-235 from 50th Street in West Des Moines to 63rd Street in Windsor Heights to address any violations of Iowa law. This increased presence of law enforcement officers is intended to serve as a reminder for drivers to obey all traffic laws. Throughout 2014, members of CITSTF and GTSB will continue their efforts to reduce the number of traffic accidents. They plan to do this through education and enforcement. Motorists are reminded that during the winter months, they should make sure their vehicles are in proper working order and equipped with emergency supplies. Drive safe!
