Riata Snyder, of Van Meter, has earned the position on the Iowa National Junior High rodeo team and will be traveling to Gallup, New Mexico from June 23-29 to compete at the ninth annual National Junior High Rodeo Finals in the barrel racing competition.

The seventh-grader will compete for more than $75,000 worth of prizes, over $100,000 in college scholarships and the chance to be named the national champion. To earn this title, contestants must finish in the top 20 based on combined scores, then determined on three-round combined times/scores in the final round.
