Hello! We have a trustee board meeting this Thursday Sept. 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the city hall. We have one opening on the library board. Please let Jolena or Board President Rachel Backstrom know if you are interested. You need to be a resident of Van Meter, but there is information on the requirements for trustees on the application forms. This is an exciting time in Van Meter and for the library. Come be a part of this team.

New large print rotation books will be out on Wednesday. This will add 40 new titles right away. Please come in and check these out.

Then the crocheting group, please, come one and all to start your Christmas gifts as Shannon B. shows us how to make coffee cup cozies. Please bring the cup if you can. Even if you don’t have a hook or yarn we have plenty to share. This is open to all ages.

The following week on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. we have book club at the library. We will be discussing the book "Into the Forest" by Jean Hegland. This is a very interesting book and the discussion I think will be intense. Come join us.

We have added a lot of new children’s titles and Young Adult. Bring your kids and enjoy looking together.

We also have a few new DVDs. We really appreciate the Adel Public Library cleaning these when it is needed. Authors the library recommends: Grace Livingston Hill and Beverly Lewis. Movie series: "Star Wars".

Two of our newest books "School’s Out Forever" and "The Bone Season" are on top seller’s lists.
