Hello everyone…Thank you for the brand new donations of books, and of puzzles and snacks for after school kids. A couple of different donations had 2013 and 2014 copyrights. Thank you for saving our library and community money. We also received a few new Bible Study books and health books. If you are looking for a certain book, DVD, magazine, puzzles, games, greeting cards and more we probably have what you need. We also have federal tax forms and instruction booklets.

We have new DVDs in : "Downton Abbey" - Season four, "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs II", "Heroes" - all the seasons, and more.

In new books we have more adult and young adult. We have added quite a few biographies, cook books, westerns and pioneer books.

This coming week on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the library we will have book club: We will be discussing, "Where’d You Go, Bernadette?". Be sure to join us in person or online at www.anywherebookclub.com. If you need any help let Jolena know at 996-2435.

The following week on Feb. 27 will be Sci-Fi/fantasy lover book club at 7 p.m. at the library. Please join us.

I have been catching up on "The Iowan" magazine. It is so good and we are blessed to have several magazines dedicated to our wonderful state, Iowa. In March, Michelle and I will also start working on the Summer Reading Program. Please let me or Michelle know if you have items for crafts, science experiments, prizes or snacks. When we get closer to the end of May I will put in here items we need donated. Thank you for taking the time to read this and donate.

We had an early 1900s Almanac and atlas of Madison County donated. I can promise your library is a great keeper of historical matters and if it is something we cannot or should not keep we will make sure it gets into the rights hands, such as the state historical society. We cannot replace these items and they are valuable in keeping our history alive.

Watch here as we have the Dallas County Conservationists coming the last week in February. Please also keep in mind the Van Meter Visitor Festival in September 2014 and if you would like to be a part of that.

Be sure to keep safe and warm. Stop in if you get the opportunity and don’t forget we do deliver to the home bound.

-Jolena
