Hello from Bulldog country! Well we lost to Fort Dodge St. Edmonds 14-35. but I just want to say what an awesome year, Bulldogs! You have made the history books. We got to watch the game at the library while we were having our Senior Citizen Thanksgiving Dinner. The dinner was a success and I thank all those who participated and either made the food and drink or consumed it!

Michelle Boren (Assistant Librarian) was responsible for the planning and setting up. Portia and Joycie delivered a couple meals. We didn’t even get to play games or cards as we ran out of time. The kids there made it to the park though. I also want to thank the many who helped with clean up. I believe this will become an annual tradition.

This week on Wednesday we have the Dallas County Conservationists coming at 4pm. They will be talking about all kinds of animals and sharing books and artifacts with us. This is for all ages.

Last Thursday the quilling was a hit. Shannon showed us how to do this and we had a great group turn out. We started at 6:30 p.m. and finished around 9:15 p.m. We were all very pleased with our finished projects. Many people have been asking for crafts and knitting each week on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.. We are going to try it! Shannon will be set up in the coffee corner this Thursday night to show us how to make Origami turkeys. On this same night in the opposite side of the library at the table is book club at 7 p.m. We will be discussing the book "Wild Swans". Then I will be handing out our next read "Where Lilacs Still Bloom" by Jane Kirkpatrick. Be sure to join us for lively discussions.

We have had fun after school. This past week we had an afternoon of races. We did the turkey trot, pig run, duck waddle and deer loping. I gave out small prizes. We have also had very creative kids coloring Cornucopias and turkeys. Then they went crazy and wanted more things to do, It was a blast.

Our library is closed Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday! But I am going to list here some new DVDs and books you may want to check out over break.

DVDs "The Perks of Being a Wallflower", "White House Down", "Red", "Red 2", "The Heat"., "Man of Steel" and "The X-men Trilogy".

Books: "Killing Jesus", "The Moon Flower Vine" by Jetta Carleton, "Paper Towns" by John Green,

"Eleanor & Park" by Rainbow Rowell, "The Signature of All Things" by Elizabeth Gilbert, "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Hard Luck" Book 8 by Jeff Kinney, "Dark Witch" by Nora Roberts, :Powers That Be" by Anne Mc Caffrey, "The Selection" and "The Elite" by Kiera Cass, "Where’d You Go, Bernadette? by Maria Semple, "Sea Creatures" by Susanna Daniel, "The Beginning of Everything" by Robyn Schneider and "Big Snow" by Johnathan Bean.

As you can see there is quite a selection between Adult, Young Adult and Junior Fiction.

We also have at your library about any book you might need for Thanksgiving or Christmas. We have books on Holiday cooking, baking, gifts, decorating, and singing. Let us know what you need and we will help you find it.

Last but not least we should have the Christmas coffee in from Star Bucks this week to serve. So be sure to stop in and warm up. Make the library that third place for you and your family.
