Visiting Nurse Services of Iowa will host a marketplace enrollment event - providing assistance to individuals enrolling in the new health insurance marketplace - at Dallas County Hospital on Wednesday, Dec. 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the hospital’s South Atrium. VNS of Iowa is one of three organizations in Iowa to receive a federal grant to connect Iowans with one-on-one assistance via trained and licensed "navigators." The VNS Navigators help individuals understand health coverage options. They also help individuals enroll in a Marketplace plan that meets their needs and fits their budget.

Appointments are encouraged and may be made by calling 515-288-1516. Navigators estimate the enrollment process will take about 45 minutes, provided individuals bring all necessary documentation, including:

·Social Security number(s) (or document numbers for legal immigrants)

·Birth date(s)

·Employer and income information for every member of household needing coverage (pay stubs or W-2 forms — wage and tax statements)

·Policy numbers for any current health insurance plans covering household members of your household, if applicable

·Information about any health insurance available from employer(s), if applicable

Those interested may also apply for insurance through the new marketplace by calling 1-800-318-2596, via a paper application or online at healthcare.gov. For more information, go online at www.dallascohospital.org or www.vnsdm.org.
