The Waukee Area Arts Council presents Tuesdays on the Triangle Sponsored by Stivers Ford Lincoln. A free concert will be presented every Tuesday in June at Triangle Park in Downtown Waukee, 6th and Ashworth Drive. The performances begin at 7 p.m. and last approximately two hours. Rain location will be ArtsCentral, 405 Maple Street, Waukee.
Sydney Lett will kick off the series on Tuesday, June 4. Lett is a 16-year old country music singer from Des Moines. One of her original works is entitled "Count the Stars" and is a song written for the brave Iowa soldiers currently deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan and their families. Lett also wrote an original song, "Rain", to explain her experiences with teenage bullying and suicide.
"The Waukee Area Arts Council is pleased to be able to present this talented young country artist at Tuesdays on the Triangle," said Cindy DePond of the Waukee Area Arts Council. Lett has opened for national acts including LeAnn Rimes and Sammy Kershaw and has shared the stage with artists including Diamond Rio, Trailor Choir, The Lost Trailers and Blake Shelton. The Tuesdays on the Triangle lineup includes: Tuesday, June 4 – Sydney Lett – Country Singer and Band; Tuesday, June 11 – Java Jews – Yiddish and Hebrew melodies combined with Jazz & Dixieland; Tuesday, June 18 Michael Hope – Acoustic Guitar and Vocals; and Tuesday June 25 – Exit 113, 50s, 60s, 70s Rock ‘n Roll.
