Mary Ann Anderson, 86, passed away peacefully of natural causes at Sutter Health hospital in Sacramento, California on Monday, July 23, 2018. She was born on October 24, 1931 in Dallas Center, Iowa. She was laid to rest at the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Dixon, California.
She lived in Iowa in her earlier years and then moved out west to California. She raised five children and worked in the mortgage industry for many years. In retirement she spent time volunteering at the Elk Grove food bank. She lived life to the fullest and enjoyed socializing with her Red Hat ladies at their various functions.
Maryann was always a very happy and positive person. She had kind words for everyone she met. She could be counted on to dispense sound advice and wise wisdom in her typical honest style. Of course, sometimes it was not what we wanted to hear, but she was usually right. Everyone enjoyed her infectious laugh and loved being around her.
She preceded William, her husband of 67 years, in death.
She is survived by her five children, Connie Poole of Morgantown, Kentucky; Thomas Anderson of Sparks, Nevada; Judith Armstrong of Folsom, California; Kenneth Anderson of Sacramento, California and Sharon Molinar of Elk Grove, California. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mary Ann was a gift from God to our family and we are truly blessed to have had her in our lives.
She was someone we could talk to that no one can replace. She was our dearest mother; our dearest friend. Thank you for all the memories and always being there for us to the very end.
We miss you each day and that will never end. When I drink a diet Pepsi I will think of you because no other soda would ever do. You were a loving mother, wife and Grandmother who was always positive and kind, what a beautiful memory you left behind.
At her request no services will be held. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Elk Grove food bank in Elk Grove, CA.
