Expecting mothers are invited to a community baby shower hosted by Dallas County Public Health and the Adel First Christian Church on Tuesday, Sept. 19 from 4-5 p.m. at the Adel First Christian Church, 218 North Ninth Street, Adel. Please use the east entrance, which faces Highway 169. All expecting mothers who attend this shower will receive gifts to welcome their baby.

The Maternal Child Health program of Dallas County Public Health is a free in-home support program for all moms, parents-to-be, and babies residing in Dallas County. The home visitors are a licensed nurse and a medical social worker, who help new moms know what to expect, talk out problems, and decrease health risks for mom and baby. The free program adds a layer of support, in addition to regular OB clinic visits.

Dallas County Public Health offers its maternal child health visits to pregnant women at their home, or a location they choose, scheduled at a time that is convenient for the mom. The visits are free of charge, thanks to 4R Kids Iowa. Grants and donations provide reward gifts to participants as they achieve goals.

Please RSVP to Rose by Sept. 15 at 515-993-3750.
