The Waukee boys basketball team played on Dec. 20 against Southeast Polk. The Warriors beat the Rams by an outstanding 69-30. With the win, the Warriors season record is now 5-2.

Senior Drew Johnson was the points leader for the Warriors. With 16 points, he had scored two field goals and four three pointers for the team.

Noah Hart, a sophomore, was the second leading scorer for the Warriors. He had 13 points by the end of the game, from two field goals and three three pointers.

The Rams' leading scorer was Willie Tunks. Tunks had one field goal, two three pointers and four free throws for a total of 12 points. He also tied for most steals with teammate Daniel Hackbarth, each had three.

The Warrior with the most rebounds was Jacob Rau. He had 10 rebounds against the Rams, one was offensive and the other nine were defensive rebounds. Rau also had five blocks during the game allowing him to lead for the Warriors.

Cade Longnecker had seven rebounds making him the second leader in rebounds for the Warriors. All of his rebounds were defensive rebounds. Longnecker also led in assists for the Warriors with a total of six against the Rams.

Arnold Grant was the Ram that led in rebounds. He had a total of four rebounds, one that was offensive and three that were defensive. 

Compared to the Warriors 18 assists and 11 blocks, the Rams only had two of each.

The Warriors ended the game by beating the Rams by a whopping 39 points (69-30). The Warriors next game will be after the holiday break on Jan.3 at Ankeny at 7:45 p.m.
