The Van Meter girls basketball team took on Interstate 35 on Dec. 22. To begin their winter break, the Bulldogs beat the Roadrunners 58-23.

Once again, the Bulldogs leading scorer was Mackenzie Roberts. The senior had 30 points on her own made up of four field goals, five three pointers and seven free throws.

Roberts also led in rebounds and steals. She had 13 total rebounds against the Roadrunners, four that were offensive and nine that were defensive. Roberts had three of the BUlldogs' five steals as well.

C.J. Jones was the Bulldog to lead in assists. She had five by the end of the game against the Roadrunners. Jones also had one of the two blocks for the Bulldogs. The only other block was by Freshman Natalie Barth.

The Bulldogs beat the Roadrunners by an amazing 58-23. Their next game will be on Jan. 3 against AC/GC in Van Meter and 6:00 p.m.
