It was a quick one, two, three win for the Woodward-Granger Hawks' wrestling team who pinned their way to three straight victories.
On Tuesday at West Central Valley High School the Hawks Grapplers went to the mat and came out winners against the host Wildcats, East Union Eagles and Erix-EHK Spartans.
Their closest match-up came against the Eagles in a 13 point, 44-31 victory. The Hawks earned two pin fall wins with another four wins coming in forfeits, five points in a technical fall and a three point decision win.
Against the host the Hawks put up another double digit win, 48-26. Thirty-six points came from pin fall wins, another six points came from a disqualification and a three point decision. The team was deducted three points for a flagrant misconduct.
It was a lopsided 63-12 win over the Spartans. Their win was assisted with seven matches coming from forfeit victories. They did manage three pinfall wins and one decision victory.
Austin Scharlau, Tyler Lawernson and Alex Kirton each finished with two pinfalls in three matches. Colt Palmer, Hunter Pierce, Tanner Vermaas, Cody Fisher, and Gabriel Yingst each had one pinfall.
Vermaas also achieved a technical victory, Fisher, Pierce and Tate Lettow each earned decisions wins.
