The 7th grade girls basketball team from Dallas Center-Grimes will play in the Iowa Youth Basketball Region Playoff in Pella on Sunday, March 4.

All Iowa teams in grades 4-9 have been invited to play off in the North and South Region Championships to advance to the over-all Iowa state championship.  All teams play 3-4 games in one day.  The North Region Playoffs will be held at UNI in Cedar Falls and Waterloo Columbus High School. Boys in grade 5 and girls in grades 4, 6 & 8 will play Saturday, February 25 at UNI in Cedar Falls.  Boys in grades 4 & 6 and girls in grades 5 & 7 will play on Sunday, February 26 at UNI in Cedar Falls. Boys in grade 7 & 9 will play on Saturday, February 25 at Waterloo Columbus High School. Boys in grade 8 and girls grade 9 will play on Sunday, February 26 at Waterloo Columbus High School. The South Region Playoff will be held in Pella. Boys in grades 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, & 9 will play on Saturday, February 25. Girls in grades 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, & 9 will play Saturday, March 4 in Pella.

The top two teams from each region are invited to play off in Ankeny at the Iowa State Championship on April 1-2. Then, the top two teams from state are invited to play off in an “Elite Eight” format at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul for the Great Four-State Championship.  This playoff system is sponsored by the Minnesota Timberwolves and Minnesota Lynx and coordinated by Pacesetter Sports.
