The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn wrestling team hosted a Raccoon River Conference triangular on Thursday, Jan. 19. The Tigers hosted Carroll (Tigers) and the Bondurant-Farrar Bluejays.
A-D-M beat Carroll 56-24, but lost to the Bluejays 46-27.
The first dual for A-D-M was against Carroll. This dual had five forfeits alone, three by Carroll and two by A-D-M.
Caleb Buse earned a quick six points for A-D-M in the 145 pound weight class. When he wrestled Carter Irlmeier, he had him pinned in a mere 18 seconds. This was easily the quickest match, not only of the dual, but of the meet.
At 160 pounds was Luke Huen for A-D-M. He pinned Carroll's Michael Patzner in 1:18.
The last dual of the night was between A-D-M and Bondurant-Farrar.
This dual, there were only three forfeits, but all three were by A-D-M.
One of the best matches for A-D-M during this dual was at 138 pounds. Nolan Harsh pinned Bluejay Ivan Kruse in just under 30 seconds.
Andrew Flora and Charles Craigmile both beat their Bluejay opponent by a 10-2 major decision. Flora weighed in at 106 pounds and took on Colby Lillegard. Craigmile was in the 182 pound weight class where he wrestled Jacob Hayworth. Both of these matches earned four points each for A-D-M
The Bluejays won the match after they beat Carroll 54-28 and A-D-M 46-27. A-D-M did beat Carroll 56-24.
Adel-DeSoto-Minburn competed at the Ed Winger Classic in Urbandale on Saturday, Jan. 21. The Tigers next meet will be on Tuesday, Jan. 24 in Boone against Boone, Perry and Woodward-Granger. The quadrangular will begin at 5:30 p.m.
