The Van Meter Bulldogs girls basketball team will be hosting the Ogden Bulldogs tonight, Jan. 31 at 6:00 p.m.

Van Meter has a 14-3 record going into the game tonight, while Ogden has an 8-9 record this season.

The two teams have already played each other once, earlier this season. Van Meter ended up winning the game 61-42.

Senior Mackenzie Roberts easily led Van Meter in points against Ogden. On her own, Mackenzie had 26 points. These points consisted of six field goals, four three pointers and two free throws.

Sophomore Abby Langel was the leading scorer for Ogden. She led with 16 points made up of one field goal, four three pointers and two free throws.

Mackenzie Roberts also led Van Meter in rebounds. She had six rebounds against Ogden, two that were offensive and four that were defensive.

Emily Roberts and Ellie Folkerts tied for second leader of rebounds with three each. Emily's rebounds were made up of one offensive and two defensive rebounds while Folkerts had all defensive rebounds. Mackenzie Roberts, Emily Roberts and Ellie Folkerts had 12 of the team's 16 rebounds.

The leader for Ogden was Ellee Laws with six rebounds. She had one offensive and five defensive rebounds against Van Meter.

Kennedy Kruse and Kim Christensen tied for second leader with four rebounds. Kruse had all defensive rebounds and Christensen had one offensive and three defensive.

The leader of this game is assists for Van Meter was C.J. Jones. Jones finished the game with a total of five assists. The second leader for Van Meter was senior Chelsea Bright with three assists.

Laws also led Ogden in assists. She finished the night with a total of three assists. She was followed by teammates Meredith Adreon and Kruse with two assists each.

Of Van Meter's 17 steals, Jones and Mackenzie Roberts each had five. Bright followed them in second with three steals of her own.

Ogden only three steals the entire game. Junior Ashton Boggess led the team with two and Laws had the third and final steal for Ogden.

Van Meter beat Ogden 61-42 when they met earlier this season. Ogden currently has an 8-9 record and Van Meter holds a 14-3 record so far this season.

The Van Meter Bulldogs and the Ogden Bulldogs will play one another for the second time this season tonight (Jan. 31) at 6:00 p.m. at the Van Meter High School.
