The Waukee Warriors girls basketball team will be taking on the Ankeny Hawks tonight, Feb. 3, at 6:15 p.m. The two teams met earlier this season at Ankeny where the Warriors brought home the 66-42 win.
The leading scorer for the Warriors was Carlie Littlefield. During this game, Littlefield scored seven field goals, one three pointer and five free throws for a total of 22 points.
Rebecca Corbett and Kelli Fogt tied for second leading scorer. Both Warriors had ten points against the Hawks. Corbett's points were made up of four field goals and two free throws, while Fogt had five field goals for all ten of her points.
The Hawks leading scorer was Codee Myers. The senior had ten points from her three field goals, one three pointer and one free throw.
Right behind Myers was Sydney Shadravan. Shadravan had a total of nine points from one field goal and seven free throws.
Brianna Hartman led the Warriors in rebounds. She finished the game against the Hawks with a total of ten. Hartman's rebounds consisted of five offensive and five defensive rebounds.
Two Hawks tied for the leader of rebounds. Myers and Sara McCullough had six rebounds each. Myers rebounds were made up entirely of defensive rebounds and McCullough had one offensive and five defensive rebounds.
Kylie Coleman and Littlefield each had five assists for the Warriors. Their assists made up ten of the team's 20.
The Hawks only had nine assists by the end of the game. Isabelle Vacek led the Hawks with three assists.
Corbett had five steals for the Warriors putting her in the lead. She was followed by Coleman and Hartman with four each.
The Hawks only had six steals the entire game, two of which were by Myers.
The Warriors are going into the game with a 14-3 record and the Hawks currently hold a 6-11 record this season. The last time the two teams played one another the Warriors won 66-42.
The Warriors will be hosting the game tonight (Feb. 3) at 6:15 p.m.
