DMACC’S MOLLY JACOBSEN NAMED ICCAC DII SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has named Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) freshman Molly Jacobsen of Adel the ICCAC Division II Softball Pitcher of the Week for the week of February 20 to 26.
Jacobsen is the second DMACC pitcher and the third player to be honored by the ICCAC this season. Sophomore Ashley Sicard of Ackey was named ICCAC Division II Pitcher of the Week for the week of Feb. 13 to 19 and freshman Kerigan Torres of Des Moines was named ICCAC Division II Softball Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 13 to 19.
Jacobsen, a left-hander, pitched a complete game shutout in lifting DMACC to an 8-0 win over Allen Community College (ACC) on Feb. 26. She allowed just one hit, struck out six batters and walked one in improving to 2-1 for the season.
Jacobson has pitched 15 innings this season, allowing four runs on nine hits. She has struck out 23 batters, walked seven and has an earned run average of 1.40.
The DMACC softball team is 6-1 this season. The Bears will face Labette Community College (LCC) and Coffeyville Community College (CCC) in doubleheaders this weekend.
