The Iowa Newspaper Association announced its 2017 All-State Girls Basketball teams for Class 5A, 4A, 3A, 2A and 1A Tuesday. Three local athletes were chosen for the All-State teams.


Mackenzie Roberts was chosen as a Class 2A Second Team All-State selection. Roberts led the Bulldogs with 374 points this season averaging 17 points per game. She also had 44 offensive rebounds and 152 defensive rebounds for a total of 196 to lead the team. Roberts was also the second leader of assists (51), steals (38) and blocks (18) for the Bulldogs this season.


Waukee’s Carlie Littlefield has been chosen as a Class 5A First Team All-State selection. Littlefield was the Warriors leading scorer this season with a total of 443 points, she averaged 19.3 points per game. She also led the team this season with a total of 164 rebounds, 104 assists and and 89 steals. She finished the season with seven blocks.


Kylie Coleman (Waukee) was chosen as a Class 5A Third Team All-State selection. Coleman followed Littlefield as the second leading scorer of the season for the Warriors when she averaged 11.8 points per game and finished with 271 points. Coleman had 13 offensive rebounds this season and 39 defensive rebounds for her season total of 52. Coleman had 49 assists, 35 steals and six blocks this year.
