Four Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs were chosen for the 2017 Little Hawkeye Conference All-Conference Basketball Team on March 10.
Trevor Grove was announced as a First Team All-Conference selection. Steve Borneman was receognized as a Second Team All-Conference member. Senior Brody Kleen and junior Jordan Humphreys were both recognized as All-Conference Honorable Mentions.
The four All-Conference selections led the team in points this season. Grove was the overall leading scorer for the Mustangs. He finished the season with 384 points and an average of 15.4 points per game. Borneman followed Grove for second leading scorer with 12.6 points per game and a total of 315 points on the season. Humphreys had 211 points this year and Kleen finished with 207.
Again, Grove and Borneman led the Mustangs in rebounds. Grove finished the season with a total of 146 rebounds and a game average of 5.8 rebounds. Borneman had 4.8 rebounds per game and a total of 119 rebounds this season. With a total of 81 rebounds this season was Kleen, Humphreys followed with 62 rebounds.
Borneman was the Mustangs’ leader of assists this year with 82. The second leader was Jack Duey with 49 assists. The Mustang with the third most assists was Grove with 40 on the season.
Once again, the four selections led the team, this time in steals. Borneman and Grove were the top two; Borneman with 37 and Grove with 33 steals. Humphreys had 24 steals to end the season and Kleen followed him closely with 23.
Kleen led the Mustangs in blocks this season. The senior finished with 38 blocks total. Grove was the second leader of blocks with 24 on the season and Borneman had 14 total.
These four All-Conference Team selections helped the Mustangs finished the 2016-2017 season with a 15-10 record.
