On Mar. 14 the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Tigers boys track team competed at the 24th Iowa State Boys High School Classic held at Iowa State University.


The first event was the 60 meter dash. Tiger Gavin Osteen placed 41st in this race with his time of 7.56 seconds. With a time of 7.89, Brett Duroe finished the race in 97th.


Braeden Hegarty finished with a time of 58.81 in 400 meter dash to place 94th overall.


Hegarty and Sean McGee ran the 1600 meter race. Hegarty had a time of 5:34.98 for 89th place and McGee placed 95th with his time of 5:37.92.


The two Tigers to run the 60 meter hurdles were Lucas Heitz and Colton Pirtle. Heitz placed 68th when he ran a 9.77, Pirtle finished in an even ten seconds and placed 73rd.


Hegarty and Heitz also competed in the high jump event. Hegarty had a final height of five feet to place 52nd and Heitz had 4’10” to place 59th.


With a 16’5.75” jump, Pirtle placed 62nd in the long jump event.


The Tigers next indoor meet is on Friday, Mar. 17 in Pella at Central College. This will be the Tigers last indoor meet before their regular season begins.
