The Waukee Warriors girls’ track team ran their last indoor meet on Saturday, March 18 at Central College.


Moe Nealey led the Warriors when she placed first in shot put. Nealey had a 40’9” throw. The second Warrior in the event was Kaitlyn Galetich, who placed seventh with her throw of 33 feet, 10 inches.


The Warriors’ 4x400 meter relay team placed second. The team consisted of Katie Groetken, Emily McKibben, Janjay Peters and Emma Shepard. The four ran a 4:17.99.


The Warriors 4x800 relay team placed third in the meet. Sydney Schaffer, Shepard, Ally Schaffer and Madison Banwart ran the relay in 10:13.56.


In the 3000 meter run was Odessa Neeley. She finished the race in 11:59.90, which put her in third place. Neeley also placed fifth in the 800 meter race. She had a time of 2:41.64 to finish the race.


Neeley was just one of the Warriors in the 800 meter run. Brooke Trampel placed seventh with a time of 2:42.08 and Ally Schaffer had an even 2:43 for ninth place.


Anna Keplinger ran the 60 meter hurdles for the Warriors. In just 10.01 seconds, Keplinger finished in fifth place.


The Warriors 4x200 meter relay team also finished in fifth. This team included Peters, McKibben, Groetken and Emma Schossow.


Schossow finished in eighth in the 60 meter dash finals. She ran the race in 8.53 seconds.


In the 400 meter dash, Sydney Schaffer ran a 1:06.63 for eighth place.


Warrior Isabelle Schaffer also placed eighth in the 1500 meter run. She finished the race with a time of 5:24.93.


Ellie Hemesath and Kaitlyn Severson competed in the high jump. Hemesath placed eight with a jump of 4’8” and Severson jumped 4’6” for 11th place.


There were also two Warriors in the long jump event. Peters jumped a 14’8” that put her in ninth place and in 11th was Kristin Hunke after her jump of 14’6.5”.


The Warriors will be hosting their first track meet on Tuesday, March 28 at 4:30 p.m.
