The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Tigers girls track team started off their regular season on Monday, March 27 at the Earlham Invitational.
The Tigers did very well, winning 11 of the 19 events, they even broke three meet records.
Anna Kenny was the first Tiger to break a record at this meet. Kenny ran the 400 meter dash and finished in 1:02.55 to break the previous record.
Lizzy Lohmann also ran the 400 meter dash for the Tigers, she placed second with a time of 1:07.05.
The second record broken by the Tigers at the Earlham meet was by Keaton Kester. Kester ran the 200 meter dash for the Tigers in 26.38 seconds. Kenny also ran this race and placed second with a time of 27.66 seconds.
The Tigers’ 4x400 relay team broke the meet record with their time of 4:20.38.
In the long jump, Sydney Bertman placed first for the Tigers. She had a final jump of 15’11.25.
Also in the top five of the event was Josi Lonneman for the Tigers. Lonneman placed fourth with a jump of 15’2.75”.
In the 3000 meter run, Sadie Juergens ran a 11:59.13 to finish the race in first place. The second Tigers in this race was Ashlie Hauf. Hauf placed third overal with a time of 13:16.20.
Juergens and Hauf also ran in the 800 meter race. Jeurgens placed first with her time of 2:33.49 and Hauf placed third with a time of 2:50.72.
The two Tigers in the 1500 meter race was Ellise Mueller and Sydney Engleman. Mueller finished first with a time of 5:48.88 and Engleman placed fourth with her time of 6:12.11.
Kester finished in 12.67 seconds in teh 100 meter dash that allowed her to place first. Lonnemann ran the race in 13.52 seconds to finishe in fourth place.
The Tigers 4x800 relay team placed first when they ran a 10:28.72. The 4x100 team also placed first with a time of 52.71 and the 4x100 shuttle hurdle team finished in 1:12.90 to place first.
The Tigers distance medley team placed second with their time of 5:07.76.
In the 4x200 relay team, the Tigers placed second as well. The team finished the race with a time of 1:54.21.
The Tigers next meet is on Thursday, March 30 at Dallas Center-Grimes at 4:45 p.m.
