On Friday, March 31, the Waukee Warriors held their second home invitational of the season.


In their field events, Warriors Zach Morrison and Jacob Wiggins both placed first. Morrison finished first in discus when he had a throw of 148’2”. Wiggins followed Morrison in this event in third place with his throw of 139’10”.


Wiggins took first in the shot put. The Warrior had a throw of 52’7”. Erik Sorensen also competed in the shot put. He threw a 48’1.5” for third place.


In the 3200 meter run, Nathan Sanders ran a 9:58.80, which put him in first place. Tyler Loecke also ran the race for the Warriors. Loecke placed third with a time of 10:06.80.


The Warriors’ 4x400 relay team, made up of Ryan Modlin, Drew Johnson, Josh Andrews and Zach Eaton, placed first at the meet. The four runners finished the race in 3:25.88.


In the 4x800 meter relay race, the Warriors placed first as well. This relay team was made up of Carson Doty, Andrews, Tyler Groathouse and Modlin, they finished the race in 8:07.14.


Arron Mapes finished the long jump field event in second place. The Warrior had a final jump of 20’3.25”.


The highest-placing Warrior in the 1600 meter race was Jackson Lewis. Lewis placed second overall with a time of 4”31.97.


The Warriors’ 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams placed second at the invitational. The 4x100 relay team ran the race in 43.39 and the 4x200 team finished their race in 1:31.21.


DJ Moffitt, Chaise Russell, Tyrese Moore and Bailey Watts made up the Warriors’ 800 sprint medley team. The four Warriors ran a 1:38.12 that put them in second place.


With a time of 11.13 seconds, Dan Blocker finished the 100 meter dash in third place.


In third place of the 800 meter run was Josh Rinderknecht, he ran the race in 2:04.09.


The distance medley was run by Moffit, Russell, Tanner Ellis and Kevin Kato. Their time of 3:47.60 put the Warriors in third place.


The Warriors’ next meet is on Thursday, April 6 in Indianola at 4:30 p.m.
