The Dallas Center-Grimes Fillies competed at the Waukee Girls Relays on Thursday, April 13.


The Fillies struggled a bit and finished in seventh out of eight with just 57 points.


The Fillies’ sprint medley team of Abby Ryan, Ashley Murrow, Abby Weddle and Tatum Jorgensen placed first. The four finished the race with a time of 1:51.78.


The relay team of Lexi Smith, Sami Sterbenz, Kaitlyn Murano and Ila Heins were the next highest-placing team for the Fillies. The four ran the 4x800 relay race and took home third place with their time of 10:59.60.


The Fillies’ 4x100 team placed fourth with a time of 51.75. The Fillies did not participate in the other relay races.


Jorgensen placed fourth in the 200 meter dash when she ran the race in 26.74 seconds.


Brooke Kramer also placed fourth for the Fillies. She ran the 3000 meter run in 11:51.63. Natalie Paulson also ran this race. Paulson finished in fifth with a time of 11:55.84.


Fillies’ Abby Ryan ran the 100 meter hurdles in 16.17 seconds which put her in fifth place.


Also in fifth place for the Fillies was Aldina Husic and Amber Fistler. Husic competed in discus and had a 100’8” throw for her fifth place. Fistler was in shot put and place fifth after her 33’2.5” throw.


The Fillies next meet is at home on Tuesday, April 18 at 4:45 p.m.
