Fifteen strokes separated the Perry Bluejays boys’ golf team from first place finishers the Ballard Bombers at the Woodward-Granger Invite.

On Thursday, the Bluejays teed up for an 18-hole contest at the W-G invite where they finished with a final score of 345.

The Bombers took first place honors with a 330 while the host W-G Hawks combined for 336 and a second place. The Madrid Tigers were fourth with a 362.

Noah Wilkening, Perry, led his team with a round of 80. He finished the day with 11 pars, four bogeys, and three double bogeys.

Five strokes behind was teammate Luke Rathje who finished second with an 85. Connor Nielsen was third with an 88 and the final counted score came from Tanner Duffy’s 92.

Other Bluejay competitors were Dane McCarty with a 94, Brady Iben with a 101, Devin Patrick with a 104 and Gabe Ridnor with a 106.

Those four led the junior varsity squad with a first place finish on a combined round of 405.

The boys are back on the green on April 17 when the head to West Marshall to square off against the Trojans.
