The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Tigers girls’ track team hosted their invitational on April 25. The Tigers hosted Boone, Dallas Center-Grimes, Des Moines North, Perry and Waukee. The Tigers took second as a team with 132.50 points.


Keaton Kester took first place in the 100 meter dash. She finished with a time of 12.72 seconds. Josi Lonneman also ran the 100 meter dash for the Tigers, she finished third in 13.71 seconds.


Kester is also the only individual from A-D-M that will be running at the Drake Relays.


Finishing in first place of the 800 meter run was Tiger Sadie Juergens with a time of 2:34.81. Juergens also placed first in the 3000 meter race with a time of 11:30.61 and third in the 1500 meter with a time of 5:31.33.


Juergens was also the anchor of the Tigers’ distance medley team. Kylie Hauf, Ellise Mueller, Olivia Anderson and Juergens ran the race in 4:33.92 to finish in first place.


“Sadie Juergens had a monster night winning 3000, 800 and bringing the distance medley back from a 20 meter deficit to win.” said coach Bart Mueller.


Sami Schepers also won the 100 meter hurdles. She finished the race in just 16.21 seconds. The Tigers’ shuttle hurdle team also finished first at the meet, but unfortunately, was disqualified “for leaving early,” according to Mueller.


The Tigers’ 4x200 and sprint medley relay teams also placed first at the invitational. The 4x200 team ran a 1:52.80 and the sprint medley team finished in 1:54.97.


The 4x100, 4x400 and 4x800 relay teams finished second. The 4x100 had a time of 52.36 seconds, the 4x400 relay team finished in 4:25.88 and the 4x800 team finished with a time of 10:50.02.


The Tigers’ 4x100 relay team will also be competing at the Drake Relays on Friday, April 28.


“We had a decent meet,” said Mueller, “just a couple of minor injuries kept us from winning meet.”


The Tigers’ next meet is on Thursday, April 27 in Carlisle at 4:30 p.m.
